Documentary “Diary From The Dark” out tonight.

My recent documentary “Diary From The Dark” is launched tonight on YLE1 at 22.00, Ulkolinja documentaries. It’s a story about the battle in Sinjar and the Kurdish front. The background story and trailer can be seen here on YLE’s page. It’s still subtitled in Finnish only but there will be an international version coming out...

I was just awarded with the Society Award by Kulturfonden. What especially strikes me with warmth is that it is not an award for photography, it is not even an award for journalism. It is an award for making an impact on the society. And making that impact is at the end of the day...

Today the separatists/OPLOT occupied the Donetsk Regional Governmental Broadcasting Company. It was peaceful and even though the the Ukrainian armed police was present they let the occupation proceed.

Today 22 year old Aleksander Lubenietz, separatist, was burried in his village in Krestishch. This was the second funeral within a week. He got killed in one of the confrontations two days ago at a checkpoint.
